Pipelines are a key component of infrastructure across many industries – from water and sewage systems to the energy and petrochemical sectors. Their technical condition directly impacts safety, efficiency, and operational costs. However, regular inspection of these systems presents a significant challenge.

The Most Common Challenges in Pipeline Inspection:
- Difficult Accessibility – Many pipelines are located underground or in hard-to-reach areas, making inspection and maintenance challenging.
- Lack of Precise Diagnostics – Traditional inspection methods are often inaccurate and fail to detect micro-damages that could lead to failures.
- High Costs of Manual Inspections – Inspecting pipelines manually requires specialized equipment, extensive labor time, and costly operational downtime.
- Hazardous Working Conditions – Inspections in confined spaces, high-temperature environments, or areas with high gas concentrations pose significant risks to workers.
Solution – The MOLLI Inspection Robot
In response to the challenges of pipeline inspection, MOLLI was developed—a modern, automated inspection robot that revolutionizes the way pipeline infrastructure is monitored and diagnosed. By integrating advanced measurement technologies with state-of-the-art vision systems, MOLLI provides real-time, high-precision diagnostic data, ensuring a comprehensive analysis of pipeline conditions.
The robot is equipped with a slope measurement module, which allows for the assessment of pipeline inclination—a crucial factor in monitoring fluid flow and detecting structural anomalies. The built-in accelerometer precisely determines the device’s position and stability, ensuring high-quality measurements, even in demanding operational environments.
A key component of MOLLI’s inspection system is its high-resolution vision cameras, which deliver detailed images of the pipeline interior, making it possible to detect even the smallest damages, corrosion, or leaks. Additionally, the inspection head is equipped with a gyroscope and a laser measurement sensor, allowing for extremely accurate geometry mapping, deformation detection, and evaluation of pipe wall wear. The laser measurement system enables precise identification of cracks and gaps, significantly enhancing the effectiveness of diagnostics.

MOLLI was designed with flexibility in mind, allowing for adaptation to various operational conditions and pipeline diameters. Depending on the specific project requirements and the characteristics of the pipelines being inspected, the robot can be configured in multiple variants, ensuring optimal performance for each application.
